Norma “Jean” (Kirby) Sheppard, 78, passed away June 24 at Promise Regional Medical Center in Hutchinson, Kansas. Jean was born September 19, 1931 in Leavenworth. She was the daughter of George and Edna Tetlinski Garnett. In 1951, she married William L. “Bill” Sheppard in Leavenworth. They celebrated 47 years of marriage before his passing in 1999. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Moore.Jean leaves a legacy of Christian faith and love to her family of three children, Sharon Walker and husband Boyd of McPherson, Mike Sheppard and wife Kathy of South Hutchinson, Sue Sachse and husband Richard of Easton, 12 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Sunday June 27th, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with family to receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary,1219 N Main, Hutchinson. Funeral services will be held Monday June 28th at 10:30 a.m. at Union Valley Bible Church, 1916 E 30th, Hutchinson. Burial will follow on Tuesday June 29th at 10 a.m. at Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, Kansas.
